The Man in the Ceiling
Programme
From Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist comes a heartwarming show by Hong Kong's finest muscial talent
When dreams hit the ceiling, imagination breaks through.
Twelve-year-old Jimmy longs to be a cartoonist. But his father disapproves, his mother is stretched thin, and his uncle is lost in a failing musical of his own. With no one to turn to, Jimmy’s only hope lies above him where "The Man in the Ceiling" waits to inspire him to follow his true destiny.
Based on the work of Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Jules Feiffer, with music by Tony-nominated composer Andrew Lippa and Cantonese lyrics by Hong Kong’s foremost musical lyricist Chris Shum, this production brings together celebrated cast members from the long-running hit The Impossible Trial alongside an outstanding ensemble. Uplifting, imaginative and deeply human, The Man in the Ceiling is a musical about creativity, resilience and the courage to follow your dreams against all odds.
