Once again, The International Arts Carnival (IAC) is here to bring a summer filled with creativity, inspiration, and unforgettable moments! This year’s carnival features a vibrant lineup of performances and activities by world-renowned international and local artists, offering something for everyone in the family.
Kicking off the festivities is the celebrated Henan Provincial Shaolin Wushu Center with their breathtaking Soul of Shaolin, bringing the legendary Shaolin kungfu to stage with thrilling martial arts and powerful storytelling. Audiences can also marvel at the Acrobatic Ballet Swan Lake (New Adaptation) by the award-winning Xi’an Acrobatic Troupe, which seamlessly blends the elegance of ballet with daring Chinese acrobatics.
A highlight of this year’s carnival is the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA), featuring nearly 100 of America’s finest teenage musicians. Led by conductor Gianandrea Noseda and joined by violinist and digital sensation Ray Chen, the orchestra presents a spectacular programme.
Waiting! by Korea’s HADDANGSE takes centre stage with imaginative multimedia theatre. This wordless wonder captivated audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with its heartwarming story, stunning visuals and humour. Norway’s dybwikdans offers a sensory treat for babies aged 9 to 24 months in OvO, blending live music, soft lighting, and interactive exploration in a magical land of eggs. From the Netherlands, Home tells the story of a girl and her dog searching for a place to belong, combining theatre, animation and music to inspire reflections on the meaning of home for audiences of all ages.
Local talent shines in Sounds of Sports, where Phoebus Chan, his fellow musicians and homegrown sports heroes create an energetic fusion of music and athletics. Secret agents are a popular theme in movies, and this time, Musical Trio has adapted the story of Agent Ah Wing from a bestselling novel series into a musical, The Secret Agent Spin-off: Hidden Treasure, imbued with a unique Hong Kong style.
Families can also join hands-on workshops, backstage tours, film screenings and many more. To celebrate inclusivity in art, IAC 2025 offers relaxed performances with touch tours, audio descriptions, and theatrical interpretations, ensuring everyone can share the magic of the arts.
Don’t miss the outreach programme at Domain, Yau Tong, showcasing excerpts from some of the carnival’s most exciting shows. Get ready for an exciting summer bursting with art and imagination!
