America’s foremost youth orchestra returns to Asia with esteemed conductor and violinist

Italian conductor Gianandrea Noseda will lead the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA), bringing together nearly 100 of America’s finest young musicians to perform in Hong Kong with violin superstar Ray Chen on their Asian tour.

NYO-USA, one of Carnegie Hall’s national youth ensembles, selects the nation’s best musicians aged 16 to 19 each year and embarks on an international tour following intensive training and mentorship from professional musicians. Noseda, currently the Music Director of both the National Symphony Orchestra and the Zurich Opera House, regularly collaborates with the world’s top orchestras. Violinist Ray Chen, a multiple international competition winner, has captivated audiences of all ages around with his engaging online videos promoting classical music. This time he will perform with the orchestra the Mendelssohn’s ever popular Violin Concerto. The concert programme also features a new work by contemporary American composer Carlos Simon and Rachmaninov’s masterful Symphony No. 2.

For young music lovers, this concert shows how dedication and hard work can make the dream of performing with world-class musicians come true!
