An ordinary bookshop in town transforms itself at night: Robin Hood, Snow White and Sherlock Holmes come alive and sing and play thanks to a spell by the book fairy. But a pair of bungling thieves break in looking for a stolen necklace, destroying the books in the process. How can our fairy-tale protagonists warn shop-owner Margie against the perpetrators?
Smartphone and tablets have taken over the lives of both old and young, while characters from fairy tales and the joy they bring are gradually forgotten. The Hong Kong 3 Arts Musical Institute injects new life into this American original children’s musical with Cantonese dialogue and lyrics, bringing the audience back to the world of books and fairy tales.
