ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The International Arts Carnival 2019 presents an exquisite line-up of overseas and local shows and participative activities from 5 July to 18 August, offering a wondrous taste of performing arts for the whole family.

This year’s opening programme is The Heart of Robin Hood by Vesturport (Iceland). This action-packed adaptation of the classic English folk story, gives an athletic modern twist to the tale of a warm-hearted woodland robber who steals from the rich to give to the poor. Live music and elements of romantic comedy add to the enthralling mix.

Acclaimed as “Cirque du Soleil of Vietnam”, Lune Production (Vietnam) presents you À Ố Làng Phố, an acrobatics experience that will leave you spellbound. The show immaculately merges acrobatics, contortionism, martial arts, dance, and comic moments with Vietnamese folk opera (cải lương) and modern stage design. Its aesthetic vision of the Vietnamese circus genre simultaneously takes the creative form to new heights and wider audiences.

Other amazing programmes include blacklight puppet theatre, opera for babies, dance, puppet musical, multimedia musical…etc, brought by arts groups from Canada, Sweden, The Netherlands, Spain, Japan and Hong Kong. Don’t miss the extension activities such as workshops, backstage tours and outreach programmes. Fill your summertime with IAC fun!
