Deep in the woods lives an eccentric monk, who refuses to follow tradition: he eats meat, likes to drink, and indulges in wild behaviour. People refer to him as the “Mad Monk”. When the Eight Immortals, who champion good behaviour, hear of the Mad Monk’s ways, they decide to teach him a lesson. They meet and an unearthly battle begins.
Neither side can win as their magical powers are equally strong. But as the fight goes on, the Eight Immortals also discover another side to the Mad Monk: he is actually a nice guy and very popular with the people. On finding this out, the Eight Immortals offer to make peace. They then join forces to present some of the wonderful music produced for children by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra over the past four decades.
