Parken & Nikolaïs Celebration
Introdans Ensemble for Youth (The Netherlands)

Humorous, amusing and highly entertaining

Introdans Ensemble for Youth occupies a unique position in Europe, being the only dance company in the continent to present modern ballet performances for children. Their ballets, combining classical elements with modern techniques, are rich in imagination and surprising elements. Gaining high popularity in their performances in IAC 2006, Introdans will perform two extremely innovative shows with a free and vigorous style by two renowned choreographers.

Parken shows a gathering in the park, featuring a prince finding his princess, strange animals, and a hilarious picnic. Everything seems to be possible. Choreographer Mats Ek has an exciting sense of musicality, creating humorous and amusing movements to get young audiences on the edge of their seats.

Nikolaïs Celebration consists of a number of masterpieces from another world-famous choreographer Alwin Nikolaïs, who was a true magician in his use of image, colour and shape. In this show, the dancers present a potpourri of dances – manoeuvring in elastic bands to create new decors every second, dancing like acrobats on benches, dressing in gigantic rubber suits and taking on the most extreme forms you can imagine.

Using colourful costumes, striking stage designs, and strong musical sense, the shows convey the movement, energy and elegance of dance, capturing the audience's attention.
