Ping
Títeres de María Parrato (Spain)
Best Children's Play, 2007 Max Awards for the Performing Arts, Spain
Ping the penguin grows up alone in the harsh environment of the Antarctic. Eager to see more of the world – he even dreams of flying like other birds! – and spurred on by the tough conditions he lives under, the clumsy but courageous youngster sets out across the frozen landscape. Later, when Ping becomes a father, he decides to brave the worst of the winter weather and embark on another amazing adventure, this time with his son. “Tap dancing” and gliding cheerfully around, the pair head off...
A poetic, lively work of visual theatre that utilises dance, video projection, puppetry and evocative music to lead young audiences on a challenging yet heart-warming journey of discovery. A brilliant show that should not be missed.
