Organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department since 2000, the International Arts Carnival -- the annual summer arts festival most anticipated by children, teenagers and their families -- is approaching its 11th year! From 9 July to 15 August 2010, we will present a wide variety of creative and fun-filled programmes, bringing everyone a meaningful and happy summer.

The opening programme is Peter Pan by the internationally renowned Northern Ballet Theatre from UK on 9 to 11 July at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre. A two-act full-length ballet, the show splendidly interweaves classical dance with amazing technical wizardry and gravity-defying feats of flying to depict the enchanting story of Peter Pan and Wendy and their exciting adventurous journey to the Neverland.

Besides, an exhilarating array of fascinating programmes by outstanding performers from Canada, Australia, Spain, France, Russia and Japan, as well as talented local artists will be showcased. Ranging from multimedia theatre, puppetry, music, drama, to comedic physical theatre, musical and children's films, the programmes are packaged into four series, including "ABC, Come and See", specialized for kids aged 3 to 6; "HeARTS Linked", best for the whole family; "New Generation Series", targeted at teenagers; and "Hong Kong – An Infinite City" which is tied-up with the World Expo 2010.

A colourful array of extension activities such as workshops, free exhibitions, cultural tours, demonstrations, outdoor carnival and outreach programmes are also in line.
