Adapted from Andersen's The Shepherdess and The Chimney Sweep, this French classic animation inspires many famous Japanese animators. Even the Studio Ghibli of Miyazaki Hayao will release this film in Japan this summer. The King admires the beautiful Shepherdess whose painting he keeps on his wall. However, the Shepherdess is in love with the Sweep in another painting. One night, the Shepherdess and the Sweep come to life and attempt to escape from the palace. With the help of the Mockingbird, they enter the magical Lower City. |
